1. About the Directory
JournalDirectory.com is an academic journal directory intended to help researchers, academics, students, authors, publishers, editors, journal representatives, and other interested individuals discover and explore academic journals.
The directory contains information about journals and publishers and may include information supplied by publishers and authorized journal representatives, as well as information obtained from publicly available sources.
The directory is intended primarily as a discovery and information resource. It is not an accreditation body, ranking service, certification service, journal-quality assessment service, or substitute for independent evaluation of a journal.
We reserve the right to modify, expand, restrict, suspend, or discontinue any part of the website, directory, or services at any time.
2. Free Access for Researchers and General Visitors
Researchers and general visitors may browse, search, and explore the journal directory without paying a fee to access the directory itself.
The directory is intended to provide researchers with a convenient starting point for discovering journals across disciplines and subject areas.
Free access to the directory does not mean that every journal, feature, service, or piece of information will always be available or that access will remain uninterrupted.
Optional services provided separately to researchers may be subject to fees and separate service terms.
3. Use of the Website
You may use the website for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
You agree not to:
- Use the website for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or abusive purposes.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website or its systems.
- Interfere with the operation, security, or availability of the website.
- Introduce malicious code, malware, or other harmful material.
- Scrape, crawl, copy, harvest, or systematically extract substantial amounts of website or directory data without our prior written permission.
- Use automated methods to access the website in a manner that places unreasonable demands on our systems.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with a publisher, journal, institution, organization, or other person.
- Submit information that you do not have the authority or permission to provide.
- Use information obtained through the website for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or misleading purposes.
- Attempt to circumvent technical, security, or access controls.
- Reproduce or commercially exploit substantial portions of the directory without permission.
- Engage in activity that could reasonably damage the operation, security, or integrity of the website or its services.
We may restrict or terminate access where we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated.
4. Journal Directory
The directory is intended primarily as a discovery and information resource.
Journal listings may contain information such as:
- Journal title
- Publisher
- ISSN and eISSN
- Journal website
- Subject areas
- Publication frequency
- Language
- Access model
- Editorial information
- Submission information
- Publication fees
- Indexing and abstracting information
- Other journal-related information
The information available may vary between listings.
The inclusion, absence, or presentation of any particular information does not necessarily indicate our endorsement, verification, or assessment of the journal.
5. Source of Journal Information
Journal information may be supplied directly by publishers or authorized journal representatives.
We may also review publicly available information when creating, reviewing, verifying, or updating listings.
Publishers and authorized representatives are responsible for ensuring that the information they provide is accurate, current, and appropriately authorized for publication.
We may review submitted information before creating or modifying a listing, but such review does not necessarily constitute independent verification of every statement or claim.
6. Publisher and Representative Verification
We may verify the identity of publishers and the authority of individuals who communicate with us on behalf of a publisher or journal.
Our verification process may include reviewing:
- Publicly available information
- Official websites
- Professional information
- Communication records
- Authorization or permission provided by a representative
- Documents or other information reasonably relevant to the verification
- Other information available to us
Verification is intended to establish identity and authorization relevant to the directory.
Verification does not necessarily mean that we have independently verified every academic, editorial, commercial, indexing, accreditation, or other claim relating to a journal.
7. Journal Listing Decisions
We reserve the right to determine whether a journal is suitable for inclusion in the directory.
We may accept, decline, modify, suspend, or remove a listing based on our directory requirements, verification processes, applicable policies, legal requirements, or other relevant considerations.
We are not required to provide a listing solely because a publisher or representative has requested one.
Payment does not automatically guarantee acceptance of a journal for inclusion.
A journal must satisfy applicable directory requirements regardless of whether a paid listing option is selected.
8. Publisher and Journal Representative Communications
Publishers and journal representatives may communicate with us through email, WhatsApp, telephone, contact forms, or other one-to-one communication methods.
A person communicating with us on behalf of a publisher or journal must have appropriate authority to do so.
We may request additional information, documentation, authorization, or confirmation when necessary, particularly when a new representative requests significant changes to an existing listing.
Relevant communications may be retained and used in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
9. Changes to Existing Listings
Authorized representatives may request corrections or updates to existing journal listings.
We may verify the identity and authority of the person making the request before implementing changes.
For significant changes, we may request additional confirmation or supporting information.
We may decline to make a requested change where authorization, accuracy, legitimacy, or appropriateness of the requested change cannot be adequately established.
10. Publisher-Provided Materials
Publishers and authorized representatives may provide text, logos, images, links, journal descriptions, documents, and other materials for use in connection with a listing.
By providing such material, the submitting party represents that they:
- Have the necessary authority to provide it.
- Have the necessary rights or permissions for its use.
- Have not knowingly provided misleading or unlawful material.
- Have the authority to authorize its publication in the directory.
- Are not knowingly infringing the rights of another person or organization by providing the material.
The submitting party remains responsible for the materials they provide.
11. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, the website, its design, original text, graphics, layout, branding, directory presentation, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to JournalDirectory.com and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may view and use the website for personal, academic, research, informational, or other lawful purposes consistent with these Terms.
You may not reproduce, republish, redistribute, modify, commercially exploit, or create derivative works from substantial portions of our original website content or directory without prior written permission, except where such use is permitted by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to any user, publisher, researcher, or other party.
12. Ownership of Publisher and Journal Materials
Publisher and journal names, logos, descriptions, images, links, and other materials supplied for a listing may remain the property of their respective owners.
Their inclusion in the directory does not transfer ownership of those materials to us.
We may use materials supplied by an authorized publisher or representative for the purposes for which they were provided, including creating, displaying, maintaining, and updating the relevant journal listing.
13. External Websites and Links
The directory may contain links to journal websites, publisher websites, indexing services, databases, and other external websites.
External websites are operated independently from JournalDirectory.com.
We are not responsible for the content, availability, security, privacy practices, or policies of external websites.
A link to an external website does not necessarily constitute an endorsement, recommendation, accreditation, verification, or guarantee of that website or its content.
14. Academic and Publishing Information
The directory is an information and discovery resource.
Information relating to journals may include publisher-supplied information and information obtained from public sources.
We do not provide academic, publishing, legal, financial, or professional advice through the directory.
Researchers and other users should independently evaluate information that is important to their decisions, including decisions concerning journal submission, publication, fees, indexing, accreditation, peer review, editorial practices, publication policies, or other publishing matters.
15. No Endorsement, Ranking, or Guarantee
Inclusion in the directory does not mean that we endorse, recommend, accredit, certify, rank, or otherwise approve a journal or publisher.
The presence of a journal in the directory should not be interpreted as a guarantee of its:
- Academic quality
- Peer-review standards
- Editorial practices
- Indexing status
- Accreditation
- Reputation
- Acceptance rate
- Publication speed
- Publication practices
- Suitability for a particular research project
- Suitability for a particular manuscript
Researchers remain responsible for conducting appropriate due diligence before submitting a manuscript or making publication-related decisions.
16. Accuracy and Currency of Information
We aim to maintain accurate and useful listings but cannot guarantee that every piece of information displayed on the website will always be complete, accurate, current, or error-free.
Information may change after a listing is created.
A journal may, for example, change its publisher, editorial leadership, website, ISSN or publication details, publication frequency, access model, publication fees, editorial policies, indexing status, or submission requirements.
Researchers should consult the relevant journal’s official website and other authoritative sources for the most current information before relying on information that may affect a submission, publication, or financial decision.
17. Reporting Incorrect or Concerning Information
Researchers, publishers, editors, authors, and other users may report concerns regarding a journal listing.
Reports may relate to:
- Incorrect information
- Outdated information
- Unauthorized representation
- Misleading information
- Suspected fraud
- Incorrect publisher information
- Potentially misleading claims
- Other issues affecting the accuracy or integrity of a listing
We may investigate reports and take appropriate action, including requesting clarification, contacting the publisher or representative, modifying a listing, suspending a listing, or removing a listing.
18. Publisher Listing Plans and Paid Arrangements
Certain journal listing options may be available to publishers for a fee.
We may offer different listing plans or tiers with different features, placement options, durations, or other characteristics.
Additional features or add-ons may also be available depending on the applicable arrangement.
Commercial arrangements, available options, pricing, payment methods, listing duration, renewal arrangements, and other applicable terms may be communicated directly to the relevant publisher or authorized representative.
Such information does not necessarily need to be published publicly on the website.
Payment does not automatically guarantee acceptance of a journal for inclusion.
19. Publisher Listing Review and Preview
Where applicable, a publisher may be provided with a preview of its proposed journal listing before payment or publication.
The publisher may review the proposed listing and notify us of factual errors or reasonable presentation corrections within the review period communicated to the publisher.
The specific review period and applicable payment arrangements may be communicated directly to the publisher.
The review process may vary depending on the listing plan, service, or individual commercial arrangement.
20. Listing Duration and Renewal
Unless a different period is expressly agreed with the relevant publisher, the standard validity period for a paid listing plan will be the period communicated for that plan.
Where a standard plan is expressly communicated as having a one-year validity period, the listing will remain valid for that period subject to the applicable terms.
We may contact the publisher approximately one week before the end of the applicable listing period regarding renewal, continuation, or an available upgrade.
Unless otherwise expressly agreed, contacting the publisher before expiry does not create an obligation to provide an additional grace or buffer period after expiry.
If payment or renewal is not completed before the listing period ends, the listing may be removed.
A publisher whose listing has been removed may be required to undergo the applicable waiting, review, verification, or relisting process again.
A publisher may request a different listing duration or payment arrangement. We may accept or decline such a request at our discretion.
If a different arrangement is expressly agreed, that specific arrangement will apply to the relevant transaction in accordance with these Terms.
21. Publisher Payments
Publisher payments are handled through arrangements communicated directly to the relevant publisher or authorized representative.
The website does not provide an online publisher payment portal unless expressly stated otherwise.
Payment instructions may be communicated through email, WhatsApp, or another agreed communication method.
Publishers are responsible for verifying payment instructions before transferring funds.
Payment-related matters are subject to the applicable Publisher Payment Policy and any specific payment or commercial terms communicated to and agreed with the relevant publisher.
We do not need or request a publisher’s banking password, card PIN, one-time password, authentication code, or other confidential banking credentials for ordinary listing arrangements.
22. Publisher Refunds
Publisher refunds are governed by the applicable Publisher Refund Policy and any specific commercial terms communicated to and agreed with the relevant publisher.
The availability and amount of any refund may depend on the nature and stage of the relevant listing service.
Unless otherwise stated, publication or substantial performance of a paid listing service may affect eligibility for a refund.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts any refund, cancellation right, consumer right, or other legal protection that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
23. Suspension or Removal of Journal Listings
We may suspend, restrict, amend, or remove a journal listing where appropriate.
Circumstances may include:
- Inability to verify relevant information or authorization.
- Materially inaccurate or misleading information.
- Unauthorized submission or modification requests.
- Fraudulent activity.
- Violation of these Terms or applicable policies.
- Publisher request for removal.
- Expiration of the applicable listing period.
- Non-renewal.
- Significant changes affecting the listing.
- Legal or regulatory requirements.
- Circumstances affecting our ability to continue providing the relevant service.
Where appropriate, we may communicate with the publisher or authorized representative before taking action.
A paid listing does not create an unconditional right to remain in the directory indefinitely.
Removal of a listing does not automatically create a right to a refund. Any applicable refund will be determined in accordance with the applicable Refund Policy and specific commercial terms.
24. Publisher Responsibilities After Publication
Publishers and authorized representatives should notify us when material information in a listing changes.
This may include changes to:
- Publisher identity
- Journal ownership
- Journal website
- ISSN or eISSN
- Editorial leadership
- Publication frequency
- Access model
- Publication fees
- Indexing information
- Submission information
- Official contact details
We may request confirmation before updating significant information.
Publishers and authorized representatives remain responsible for ensuring that information supplied to us remains appropriately authorized for publication.
25. Researcher Services
The directory itself is provided to researchers without a fee.
We may separately offer optional services to researchers, including manuscript formatting or other services that may be introduced from time to time.
Optional researcher services are not a condition of using or accessing the free journal directory.
The availability, scope, pricing, turnaround, payment arrangements, and other terms of an optional service may be communicated directly to the researcher.
26. Manuscript Formatting Service
Where offered, our manuscript formatting service may assist a researcher in formatting an existing manuscript according to the formatting requirements or author guidelines of a specified target journal.
The precise scope of the service will depend on the arrangement agreed with the researcher.
Formatting may include, where applicable, adjustments to matters such as:
- Document structure and presentation
- Headings
- Font and spacing
- Margins
- Tables and figures
- In-text citation presentation
- Reference formatting
- Page layout
- Other formatting requirements specified by the target journal
The actual service scope may vary according to the target journal’s requirements and the arrangement agreed with the researcher.
27. Limitations of the Manuscript Formatting Service
The manuscript formatting service is a formatting and presentation service.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, the service does not include:
- Writing or creating academic content.
- Conducting research.
- Rewriting substantive academic arguments.
- Creating new findings, analyses, data, or conclusions.
- Creating a reference list from scratch.
- Inventing, fabricating, or supplying references.
- Verifying the academic validity of cited sources.
- Selecting citations for the researcher.
- Guaranteeing compliance with every substantive editorial or academic requirement of a journal.
- Guaranteeing manuscript acceptance or publication.
Where we identify an apparent missing section, missing information, incomplete reference, or similar issue during formatting, we may point the issue out to the researcher.
The researcher remains responsible for providing the required content, references, source information, declarations, supporting materials, and other substantive material.
28. Researcher Responsibilities for Formatting Services
A researcher requesting a formatting service is responsible for providing the manuscript and other materials necessary to perform the agreed service.
The researcher represents that they have the necessary rights and permissions to provide the manuscript and other materials to us for the requested service.
The researcher remains responsible for:
- The accuracy and originality of the manuscript.
- The academic content.
- The validity of research findings.
- Citations and references.
- Required declarations.
- Ethical approvals or disclosures where applicable.
- Compliance with the target journal’s substantive requirements.
- Any permissions required for third-party material.
We do not assume responsibility for the academic or substantive correctness of the manuscript merely because we provide formatting assistance.
29. No Guarantee of Journal Acceptance
Formatting a manuscript according to a journal’s stated formatting requirements does not guarantee:
- Editorial consideration.
- Peer review.
- Acceptance.
- Publication.
- Positive reviewer decisions.
- Faster processing.
- Compliance with every current or subsequently changed journal requirement.
Journal requirements may change, and publishers and journals retain full control over their editorial and publication decisions.
Researchers should review the target journal’s current author guidelines before submission.
30. Researcher Payments
Where an optional researcher service is provided for a fee, payment arrangements will be communicated directly to the researcher.
The website does not provide an online payment portal for researcher services unless expressly stated otherwise.
Payment instructions may be communicated through email, WhatsApp, or another agreed communication method.
The applicable Researcher Payment Policy and any specific service terms communicated to and agreed with the researcher will govern the relevant payment arrangement.
31. Researcher Refunds and Cancellations
Refunds and cancellations relating to optional researcher services are governed by the applicable Researcher Refund Policy and any specific service terms communicated to and agreed with the researcher.
The availability of a refund may depend on the stage of the service, whether work has commenced, and the nature of the service provided.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts any consumer, statutory, cancellation, refund, or other legal right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
32. Service Scope and Individual Arrangements
Specific publisher or researcher arrangements may contain terms relating to:
- Service or listing type
- Scope of service
- Listing or service duration
- Price
- Payment schedule
- Deliverables
- Optional features
- Review period
- Turnaround
- Revisions
- Renewal
- Cancellation
- Refunds
- Waiting or relisting requirements
- Other agreed conditions
Such arrangements may be communicated and agreed through email, WhatsApp, or another mutually accepted written communication method.
Not every commercial or service term needs to be published publicly on the website.
33. Specific Agreed Terms Prevail in Case of Direct Conflict
We may establish general terms, policies, plans, and procedures that apply to publishers or researchers generally.
A publisher or researcher may, however, request a different arrangement for a particular transaction.
We may accept or decline such a request at our discretion.
Where a specific term has been expressly agreed with a particular publisher or researcher and that term directly conflicts with a general provision of these Terms or an applicable policy, the specific agreed term will take precedence only for that particular transaction or service.
For example, if the standard arrangement provides for a particular listing duration or payment schedule but we expressly agree in writing with a particular publisher to a different duration or payment schedule, the agreed individual arrangement will govern that publisher’s transaction.
Except for the specific conflicting provision, all other applicable Terms and policies will continue to apply.
A question, request, quotation, proposal, negotiation, or informal discussion does not by itself constitute an agreed exception.
Any departure from a general term should be expressly agreed through an appropriate written communication.
34. Communication Records and Commercial Evidence
Relevant communications with publishers, authorized representatives, researchers, and other users may be retained as business or service records.
Such communications may be used to establish:
- Information supplied for a listing.
- Authorization or permission.
- Requested changes.
- Commercial arrangements.
- Payment arrangements.
- Service scope.
- Agreed exceptions.
- Review periods.
- Renewal arrangements.
- Cancellation or refund arrangements.
- Other matters relevant to the relationship.
The handling of personal information contained in such communications is governed by our Privacy Policy.
35. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
By using the website or requesting our services, you acknowledge that information may be handled as described in that policy.
36. Contact Forms
The website may provide contact forms for publishers, researchers, journal representatives, or other users.
Information submitted through a contact form may be used to respond to the inquiry, evaluate a listing or service request, communicate with the person submitting the information, and perform related operational or administrative activities.
Submitting a contact form does not automatically create a contractual, commercial, listing, or service relationship.
Additional terms may be communicated separately where a listing or service is subsequently requested.
37. Third-Party Services
The website may rely on third-party services for hosting, security, communication, analytics, forms, backups, file storage, technical functionality, or other purposes.
Your use of the website or services may therefore involve interactions with third-party services.
Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for the independent acts, omissions, policies, security, availability, or practices of third-party service providers except to the extent required by applicable law.
38. Cookies and Technical Functionality
The website may use cookies and similar technologies for functionality, security, analytics, performance, and other legitimate website purposes.
The operation of such technologies may depend on the services and plugins active on the website at a particular time.
Further information concerning personal information and applicable technologies is provided in our Privacy Policy.
39. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the website and information handled through it.
However, no website or electronic communication system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Users should exercise appropriate caution when communicating sensitive information online.
Do not submit passwords, banking credentials, authentication codes, card PINs, or other confidential account credentials through general website forms or communications.
40. Prohibited Conduct
Without limiting the other restrictions in these Terms, you must not use the website or services to:
- Impersonate another person or organization.
- Submit fraudulent publisher or journal information.
- Attempt unauthorized changes to journal listings.
- Harass or threaten our staff or representatives.
- Distribute malware or harmful material.
- Attempt to disrupt the directory.
- Circumvent access or security controls.
- Scrape substantial amounts of directory information without permission.
- Use directory information for unlawful purposes.
- Submit manuscripts or other materials without the necessary rights or permissions.
- Submit material that knowingly infringes the rights of another person or organization.
- Provide knowingly false information in connection with a listing or service.
- Engage in activity that could reasonably damage the operation, security, or reputation of the website.
41. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, a person or organization that provides information or materials to us agrees to be responsible for claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses arising from their unauthorized, unlawful, fraudulent, or infringing submission or use of those materials.
This may include claims arising from a lack of authority or permission to provide materials supplied to us.
Nothing in this section applies to the extent that such liability cannot lawfully be imposed.
42. Website Availability
We aim to keep the website available and functional, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
The website may occasionally be unavailable due to:
- Maintenance
- Updates
- Technical problems
- Hosting or infrastructure issues
- Security measures
- Third-party service interruptions
- Circumstances outside our reasonable control
We may modify or discontinue website features without prior notice where reasonably necessary.
43. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the website, directory, listings, services, and content are provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis.
We do not guarantee that:
- The website will always be available.
- The information will always be complete, accurate, current, or error-free.
- External websites will remain available.
- Every journal listing will remain unchanged.
- The website will be free from technical errors or interruptions.
- A particular journal will be suitable for a researcher’s purposes.
- A manuscript will satisfy every requirement of a target journal.
- A manuscript will be accepted or published by a journal.
- Formatting a manuscript will result in acceptance or publication.
- Any particular academic, publishing, commercial, or research outcome will result from use of the website or services.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude a warranty or legal right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
44. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, JournalDirectory.com and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive losses arising from or related to your use of the website or services.
This may include losses arising from:
- Reliance on journal information.
- External websites.
- Publication decisions.
- Submission decisions.
- Publication fees.
- Journal rejection.
- Manuscript formatting.
- Manuscript submission outcomes.
- Changes to journal requirements.
- Errors or omissions in information supplied by publishers or third parties.
- Other decisions made using information obtained through the directory or services.
We are not responsible for decisions made by journals, publishers, editors, indexing services, or other third parties.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.
45. Publisher Commercial Arrangements
Specific commercial arrangements with publishers may contain terms relating to:
- Listing tier or plan
- Listing duration
- Price
- Included features
- Optional add-ons
- Featured placement, where applicable
- Payment
- Review period
- Publication
- Renewal
- Cancellation
- Refunds
- Waiting or relisting requirements
- Other agreed services or conditions
Where a specific written commercial arrangement contains terms applicable to a particular transaction, those terms will apply to that transaction to the extent expressly agreed and permitted by applicable law.
Specific terms may be communicated and agreed through email, WhatsApp, or another mutually accepted written communication method.
46. No Transfer of Publisher, Journal, or Researcher Rights
A journal listing does not transfer ownership of a journal, publisher, trademark, copyright, editorial content, or other intellectual property to JournalDirectory.com.
Similarly, providing a manuscript or other material to us for formatting or another service does not transfer ownership of that material or its intellectual property to JournalDirectory.com.
The directory’s role is limited to providing and maintaining the relevant listing in accordance with the applicable arrangement.
Where manuscript formatting services are provided, our role is limited to the agreed service scope.
47. Changes to Services and Policies
We may modify, expand, restrict, suspend, or discontinue any website feature, directory feature, listing option, service, plan, or other offering at any time.
Changes to general Terms and policies will be handled in accordance with the applicable provisions concerning amendments to those documents.
A change to a general plan or service does not automatically alter a specific arrangement already expressly agreed with a publisher or researcher, unless permitted by that arrangement or applicable law.
48. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our website, services, technologies, business practices, legal requirements, or policies.
When we make changes, the revised version will be published on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
Your continued use of the website after the updated Terms are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
49. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by applicable law.
50. No Waiver
Our failure to enforce a particular provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce that provision later.
51. Entire Agreement, Governing Law, Jurisdiction, and Contact
Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the applicable Privacy Policy, Publisher Payment Policy, Publisher Refund Policy, Researcher Payment Policy, Researcher Refund Policy, and any specific written commercial or service terms applicable to a particular transaction, constitute the applicable terms governing use of the website and relevant services, subject to applicable law.
